Why MMA are putrid and unentertaining

I watched the Ultimate Fighter for the first, and last time, the evening past. It's because the ads focused on Kimbo fighting and, well, I got mad respect for a dude who pulls up to people's homes and fights in their backyard.
Well, Kimbo lost. But that's not the worst part of it. This is: The fight was so friggin boring. Here's a recap:
Round 1: Heavier dude takes Kimbo down, lays atop him and hits him about the head for two of the five minutes.
Round 2: Heavier dude takes Kimbo down, lays atop him and hits him about the head for two of the five minutes.
Wow. What excitement.
At least backyard fights have some, you know, fight in them.
